How we chose them
The rule is the simplest we use: every hotel whose address is on the Île Saint-Louis, in our database of open hotels, with no exception. There are four, all on the same street, rue Saint-Louis-en-l’Île, at numbers 54, 59, 65 and 75. We did not add hotels from the banks on the strength of a view or a postal code, so the page stays a comparison of four rather than a list of twelve. Hotels outside the island are in hotels in the 4th arrondissement, the parent page of this one.
The order of the cards follows the official classification first (four stars before three), then the number of rooms: 30 and 22 for the four-stars, 20 and 17 for the three-stars. Each card keeps to what the hotel’s own website states, and says so when only the hotel claims it. Stars, room counts and dates come from the register of Atout France, the national classification agency.
Four hotels, one street
The four share a street, so location hardly separates them. The choice comes down to these points.

- Size and stars. From 17 rooms (Deux Îles) to 30 (Jeu de Paume), and two three-stars against two four-stars.
- Facilities. Only Jeu de Paume has a gym and a sauna; Lutèce has a private hammam; none has a swimming pool or a restaurant. Two of the four serve breakfast in a vaulted cellar.
- Air conditioning. Deux Îles and Jeu de Paume say it is installed in their rooms (not in the two apartments of Jeu de Paume). Lutèce and Saint-Louis en l’Isle do not mention it on their sites; ask before a summer stay.
- Accessibility. Jeu de Paume lists access for single and classic double rooms; Saint-Louis en l’Isle has one adapted room; Deux Îles has none; Lutèce declares itself not accessible.
- Families. Lutèce has rooms for four and communicating rooms, Jeu de Paume communicating rooms and two apartments of two and three bedrooms, Saint-Louis en l’Isle one triple room.
Getting around
Pont Marie, on line 7, is three minutes from Deux Îles and Jeu de Paume, four from Lutèce and Saint-Louis en l’Isle. Sully-Morland, on the same line, is six to nine minutes away, and Saint-Paul (line 1) eight or nine minutes from Jeu de Paume and Deux Îles. Maubert-Mutualité (line 10), on the left bank, is eight or nine minutes from Lutèce and Saint-Louis en l’Isle.

If the island is full: the plan B
Nine hotels of the 4th arrondissement stand four to six minutes’ walk from Pont Marie station: Roi de Sicile Rivoli and Le Temple de Jeanne (four), Hôtel Caron de Beaumarchais (five), then Charles V, 9Confidentiel, De Nice, Emile, France Louvre and Grand Hôtel Malher (six). They are on the right bank and have no island address, which is why they are not in the table; the 4th arrondissement list compares them. If you love the setting but want a longer list, the boutique hotels of the island and its edges apply a design rule instead of an address.

Before you go
Works continue around Notre-Dame: the square de l’Île-de-France behind the cathedral has been closed since 24 August 2026 and is due to reopen around May or June 2027, and the cathedral forecourt is due to be under works from the third quarter of 2027. The guide to the island and the page on Berthillon cover what is open.
