How we chose and ordered them
We searched every hotel file in our base for an advertised balcony or terrace, using each hotel’s own website as read on 2 October 2026. Eleven hotels mention a balcony or a private terrace on some rooms. Six more list a terrace or rooftop that belongs to the hotel rather than to one room. Where a hotel’s site did not mention one, the hotel is not on the list, even if its building has one.

Four hotels with a terrace of some kind are left out on purpose. Hôtel Georgette’s terrace belongs to the Café Georgette on its ground floor. Jules & Jim describes a paved courtyard with a cocktail bar, not a terrace. Le Relais du Marais has a small covered terrace beside the breakfast room, and Paris France Hôtel mentions a terrace without any detail; neither gives enough to tell a guest what to expect.
The order is the official category, from five stars down, with the eleven private-balcony hotels first and the six hotels with a terrace of their own after them. Within a category the hotels are not ranked against each other. The price band on each card is an estimate from the category. We publish no rates.
What the data does and does not say
Most sites state that some rooms have a balcony, rarely which. A fact like Caron de Beaumarchais’s six street-side rooms, or Beaubourg’s 19 m² terrace, is the exception. Treat every other entry as a reason to write to the hotel and name the category you want.
