We took every hotel in the base that lies within 230 metres of the middle of the place des Vosges, measured in a straight line from the coordinates of the square. The order is that distance, nearest first, so a hotel on the square comes before one two streets away. Walking routes are longer than a straight line, so read the figures as an order.
Unlike our other lists, this one includes a hotel with no official category, the Hôtel de la Place des Vosges, because it is the nearest to the square. We label it as such. Facilities are those each hotel announces on its own site, read on 2 October 2026, and the price band is an estimate from the category, not a tariff.
Where they are
The twelve fall into three groups around the square.
On the square itself: Cour des Vosges and Le Pavillon de la Reine, 116 and 131 metres from its centre, the two five-stars.
Rue de Turenne and rue de Birague: the Hôtel de la Place des Vosges, Turenne Le Marais and Les Tournelles, all within 200 metres.
Rue Saint-Antoine and the streets towards Bastille and the Marché-Sainte-Catherine: Sully Hôtel, Herse d’Or, Bastille Spéria, Jeanne d’Arc, Caron, Pratic and De Neuve.
For the square itself, with its brick pavilions and the Maison de Victor Hugo, see our guide to the place des Vosges. For hotels graded by their category rather than by distance, the list of luxury hotels in the Marais covers the five-stars, and the page on Saint-Paul takes in the streets south of the square.
Families, wheelchairs and pets
Families have the most options at Turenne Le Marais (five triple rooms), Bastille Spéria (communicating rooms), Herse d’Or (triples and communicating rooms) and Jeanne d’Arc (two-bedroom family rooms). Guests in wheelchairs should look at Turenne, Caron, De Neuve, Jeanne d’Arc and Le Pavillon de la Reine, each of which lists an adapted room. Pets are accepted at De Neuve and Herse d’Or, and at the Pavillon de la Reine; Caron, Pratic and Turenne do not mention them.
Which hotels are actually on the place des Vosges?
Two in our base have an address on the square, Le Pavillon de la Reine at number 28 and Cour des Vosges at number 19. Both are five-star hotels. The other ten sit in the streets around, between 102 and 228 metres away.
Which metro station is closest to the square?
There is none on the square. Chemin Vert (line 8) is closest for the two five-stars, Saint-Paul (line 1) for most of the others, and Bastille (lines 1, 5 and 8) for the Bastille Spéria and the Herse d’Or.
Is the square open at night?
The arcades around it are public streets, open at all times. The square Louis-XIII in the middle follows set hours; from 1 to 24 October 2026 the city lists 8 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. at weekends, with earlier closing from late October to the end of February. Dogs are not allowed in.
Can I find a hotel with a parking space near the square?
Le Pavillon de la Reine declares a private car park. Most others point to public car parks nearby; the Herse d’Or names one on the rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine, about ten minutes on foot. Central Paris has been a limited-traffic zone since 5 November 2024.
What is the cheapest category within reach?
The Sully Hôtel is classified one star, and the Pratic is a two-star, with the Caron, Turenne and several others at three stars. We publish no rates, since they vary by night and by platform; the price band on each card is an estimate from the category.
