Hotels Marais Paris

No. 19 on the square

The hotel is at 19 place des Vosges, on the odd-numbered side that belongs to the 4th arrondissement. It belongs to the Evok Collection, according to the legal notice on its website. The website that Atout France lists, courdesvosges.com, now redirects to the collection’s site.

Atout France classed it five stars on 24 September 2024, for just 12 rooms. That is far fewer than Le Pavillon de la Reine on the other side of the square, with 56.

The mansion

The hotel occupies the former Hôtel Marchand, or Hôtel de Montbrun, built between 1605 and 1612 and listed as a historic monument in 1954. The architects Yann Le Coadic and Alessandro Scotto kept the painted beams and original terracotta tiles and brought in furniture inspired by the 1970s; the gallery owner Amélie du Chalard chose the art. First-floor ceilings reach 5 metres, and the hotel says all 12 rooms face the Louis XIII square.

Rooms and table

Two- and three-bedroom suites are laid out like apartments. There is no spa, which the hotel states clearly, but guests can book a private Roman or Nordic bath under vaults and MyBlend treatments in the room. A restaurant, led by executive chef Adam Bentalha, serves from breakfast to dinner, and the Brach–La Pâtisserie corner, under pastry chef Fabien Emery, sits beside a terrace under the arcades in warm weather. Air conditioning, accessibility and animals go unmentioned on the hotel’s pages.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cour des Vosges the only five-star on the place des Vosges?

No. The hotel claims so, but Atout France also lists Le Pavillon de la Reine, five stars, at no. 28 on the square’s other side, so we do not repeat the claim.

Does the hotel have a spa?

No, the hotel states it. It offers a private Roman or Nordic bath under vaults and MyBlend treatments in the room.

Which collection is it part of?

Evok Collection, according to the legal notice on the hotel’s website.

What would a Cour des Vosges review take into account?

We give no scores. Checkable: five stars from Atout France since 24 September 2024, 12 rooms, a mansion listed in 1954, a MICHELIN Guide listing with no Key shown, no spa.

Is the place des Vosges in the 3rd or 4th arrondissement?

Both: the odd numbers, such as no. 19, are in the 4th, and Le Pavillon de la Reine at no. 28 is on the 3rd arrondissement side.
