How we chose and ranked them
We kept every hotel in our base with an Atout France category whose coordinates fall within 450 metres of the museum, at 5 rue de Thorigny, measured in a straight line. The order is that distance, closest first. Walking routes take longer than a straight line, so read the numbers as a ranking.
Facilities are those each hotel announces on its own website, read on 2 October 2026. We do not publish rates; the price band on each card is an estimate from the official category. The twelve range from three-stars such as Les Tournelles to the five-stars Cour des Vosges, Dupond-Smith and Le Pavillon de la Reine.
Where they are
The first four, Boudoir des Muses, Petit Moulin, Maison Saintonge and Suzie Blue, lie in the Haut-Marais, within 281 metres of the museum. Villa Beaumarchais and Les Tournelles belong to the Archives sector, at 320 and 328 metres. Vieux Saule and Jacques de Molay are in the Haut-Marais again, at 413 and 441 metres. Cour des Vosges, Le Pavillon de la Reine, Dupond-Smith and Malher lie towards the place des Vosges and the Saint-Paul sector.

Planning the visit
The museum occupies the Hôtel Salé. A booked slot gives priority entry, and the museum reports its busiest times as 10.30 to 11.30 a.m. and 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. The garden is open from 1 April to 30 September, so it is closed from October to March. The rooftop café serves from 10.30 a.m. Tuesday to Friday and from 10 a.m. at weekends, until 5.30 p.m. Free tickets cannot be booked in advance; the first Sunday of the month is free without a reservation.
