Hotels Marais Paris

Rue des Guillemites

Hôtel Dupond-Smith is at 2 rue des Guillemites, in the 4th arrondissement. The street lies north of rue des Blancs-Manteaux, close to rue Vieille-du-Temple and rue des Francs-Bourgeois. Our listing places it with the rue des Rosiers area, although it is a borderline case. The Marais has no metro station on the doorstep here: Saint-Paul (line 1) and Hôtel de Ville (lines 1 and 11) are both about seven minutes on foot, and Rambuteau (line 11) is the same.

Atout France, the national agency that classifies hotels, gave it five stars on 23 December 2024, for 8 rooms. It is independent, according to its legal notice, with no chain or collection attached.

Rooms and services

The hotel’s declared concept is anonymity. Each room or suite is named after a well-known pseudonym, among them L’Estrange, Mérimée’s alias, Balzac’s anagram from his youth, and Saint-John Perse. The architecture and decoration are by Anne Peyroux and Emmanuèle Thisy. Several rooms and suites open onto a private balcony or terrace, over the roofs or a courtyard.

What the hotel leaves out is as clear as what it offers. There is no restaurant; breakfast is served all day, room service is available and rooms carry a selection of champagnes. Treatments and massages are in the room only, and no pool or spa room is listed. Air conditioning is listed, as are rooms adapted to guests with reduced mobility, and dogs are welcome. The hotel has no car park; the public Indigo Lobau-Rivoli car park, unconnected to it, is about 400 metres away.

What is around it

Frequently asked questions

What does a Hôtel Dupond-Smith review need to weigh?

We publish no scores. The checkable points are five stars from Atout France since 23 December 2024, 8 rooms, no restaurant, treatments in the room only, and seven minutes’ walk to the nearest station.

Why are the rooms named after pseudonyms?

The hotel builds its concept on anonymity, and names each room after a famous pen name, such as Balzac’s youthful anagram or Saint-John Perse.

Does the hotel have a restaurant or a spa?

Neither. Breakfast is served all day, there is room service and a selection of champagnes in the rooms, and massages and treatments are given in the room.

Can I bring a dog?

Dogs are accepted, according to the hotel.

Is rue des Guillemites in the 3rd or the 4th arrondissement?

In the 4th. It runs north of rue des Blancs-Manteaux, near rue Vieille-du-Temple, so we file the hotel with the rue des Rosiers area, a borderline case.
