Hotels Marais Paris

On the western edge of the Marais

The hotel is at 40 rue de Rivoli, on the corner with rue Vieille-du-Temple. Strictly this is the 4th arrondissement, and we file it under Hôtel de Ville because the western stretch of Rivoli belongs to that sector. According to its legal notice, it is independent and displays no chain.

Atout France, the national body that classifies French hotels, awarded three stars on 25 March 2022 for 34 rooms. The hotel serves breakfast only, with no bar and no restaurant. Its website was live and taking bookings when we checked on 2 October 2026.

Rooms and what is missing

The building dates from the 19th century, and the rooms look either onto rue de Rivoli or onto a courtyard. It is worth asking which one you will get when you book. There is a lift serving five floors and two basement levels.

Equipment is where the limits show. The hotel’s FAQ says there is no air conditioning, only fans; no family or connecting rooms, so two guests at most; no animals; and no accessible room is mentioned anywhere. Cars are a public-car-park matter. Against that, the breakfast cellar is stone-vaulted, and the lounge upstairs has a vinyl turntable and free hot drinks in the afternoon.

Around the hotel

In a straight line, the Mémorial de la Shoah and the BHV department store are about 200 metres away, the Hôtel de Ville and the rue des Rosiers about 250. The Mémorial is free and closed on Saturdays, a detail our data verified on 2 October 2026. For the street and its Sunday crowds, read our guide to the rue des Rosiers; the department store has its own BHV Marais page, where the shop’s restructuring is noted.

Three stations, Pont Marie, Hôtel de Ville and Saint-Paul, are each six minutes away, so there is no line you can reach in under five.

Neighbours in the same bracket

The Hôtel de Nice is a three-star of 23 rooms a few dozen metres along the same street. The Hôtel Caron de Beaumarchais, three stars and 19 rooms, is about 50 metres away. The four-star Hôtel 9Confidentiel has 29 rooms and sits just as close. Taking the five-star route instead, Le Grand Mazarin is under 160 metres off and has 61 rooms.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hôtel France Louvre have air conditioning?

No. The hotel’s own FAQ says rooms are cooled with fans. In a hot Paris July that is the first point to weigh.

Is there parking at Hôtel France Louvre?

Not on site. The hotel points to the public Baudoyer car park, directly opposite, and the street sits inside the central limited-traffic zone.

Can I bring a dog?

No. The hotel’s FAQ states that animals are not accepted.

What would a Hôtel France Louvre review need to say?

We publish no scores. The checkable record is three stars from Atout France since 25 March 2022, 34 rooms, and a hotel that lists breakfast and a lounge but no bar, restaurant or spa.

Which metro stations are closest?

Pont Marie (line 7), Hôtel de Ville (lines 1 and 11) and Saint-Paul (line 1) are each about six minutes on foot.
