Hotels Marais Paris

A Haussmann building on rue Saint-Martin

The hotel occupies 243 rue Saint-Martin, in the Arts-et-Métiers quarter of the 3rd arrondissement, three minutes on foot from the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers, whose museum fills the former priory of Saint-Martin-des-Champs. Behind the hotel’s Haussmann-era façade, Raphael Navot drew on that neighbour for his designs.

Atout France, the national agency that grants hotel stars, classified it four stars on 10 August 2022 for 64 rooms. It belongs to La Clé Group, which also runs the Bachaumont, a hotel in the 2nd. The MICHELIN Guide lists it in its selection, without a Key.

Rooms, table and rooftop

For families, the hotel offers a family suite and a penthouse for four; for guests with reduced mobility, certain rooms are specially adapted. Pets weighing up to 9 kg are accepted. A gym is reserved for hotel guests, and a treatment room offers face and body care by appointment — the hotel does not present it as a spa.

Ristorante National is described by the hotel as a chic trattoria, and the hotel describes itself as stretching from rue Réaumur to a bright patio. The Herbarium cocktail bar programmes DJ sets at the weekend. The seventh-floor rooftop with its view over the roofs of Paris is seasonal: when we checked on 2 October 2026 the website still showed a closure notice for the season, so confirm its status with the hotel.

The pages we checked do not mention air conditioning. Parking is outside: there is no valet, and the hotel refers guests to the public car park at no. 254.

Frequently asked questions

What should a Hotel National des Arts et Métiers review weigh?

Our guide does not rate hotels, so here is the verifiable side of the National. It holds four stars from Atout France since 10 August 2022, appears in the MICHELIN Guide’s selection without a Key, and lists a restaurant, a bar, a gym, a patio and a seasonal rooftop.

Is the rooftop of the Hôtel National open all year?

Not necessarily. According to the hotel’s FAQ it opens from spring, and its home page still displayed a seasonal closure notice when we checked on 2 October 2026, so ask before planning an evening there.

Is there parking at the Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers?

No. The hotel has neither car park nor valet and names the nearest public car park, at 254 rue Saint-Martin.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, if it weighs no more than 9 kg, according to the hotel’s terms of sale.

Which metro station serves the hotel?

Réaumur – Sébastopol, on lines 3 and 4, is about two minutes away. Arts et Métiers (lines 3 and 11) is four minutes and Étienne Marcel (line 4) five.
