Rue Bailly
Une Autre Chambre is at 3 rue Bailly, beside Arts et Métiers station (lines 3 and 11), about a minute away on foot. Réaumur - Sébastopol (lines 3 and 4) and Temple (line 3) are six minutes off. The street lies in the administrative quarter of Arts-et-Métiers, in the 3rd arrondissement.
Atout France, the national classification agency, rated it four stars on 1 August 2024, for 17 rooms. It is independent, with no group or collection listed.
A theme, room by room
The hotel is conceived as a tribute to Olympe de Gouges, who wrote the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and of the Female Citizen in 1791, and who stayed close by on arriving in Paris, according to the hotel. Each room evokes a feminist figure: Colette, Louise Michel, Simone Veil. The George Sand suite takes the whole top floor under the roof and is reached only by a staircase from the fifth floor.
Rooms are air-conditioned, and most are for two people at most. A bar and tea room are open from 2 p.m. to midnight, and breakfast is served until noon. There is no restaurant, only room service. The hotel has no car park, citing the Interparking du Temple and Indigo Saint-Martin nearby. It does not admit pets and says it is unable to accommodate guests in wheelchairs.
Next to a museum
The Musée des Arts et Métiers is about 111 metres away as the crow flies; see our Musée des Arts et Métiers guide. The Museum of Hunting and Nature is about 425 metres off and the Museum of Jewish Art and History about 465.
