Hôtel Jules et Jim

A contemporary building on rue des Gravilliers

The Hôtel Jules & Jim stands at no. 11 rue des Gravilliers, in the 3rd arrondissement, in the Sainte-Avoie administrative quarter. Arts et Métiers station, on lines 3 and 11, is about 250 metres away.

By the hotel’s account, the building rises on the remains of a former workshop for precious metals, and its architecture is resolutely contemporary — concrete, wood and glass. It is an independent hotel, and Atout France, the state agency that awards official stars, re-classified it four stars on 29 January 2026, for 23 rooms. That puts it in our upper-middle price band (€€€).

Bar, courtyard and gym

The hotel calls its bar and its planted courtyard the soul of the house. The cocktail bar, in backlit HI-MACS, opens every day from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. onto a paved courtyard, warmed in winter by an outdoor fireplace. There is no restaurant: breakfast and plates to share are served at the bar.

A gym is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Rooms have air conditioning and free wifi, two are adapted for guests with reduced mobility, and a duplex sleeps three. The hotel also runs a programme of art exhibitions and presents itself as an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The neighbourhood and other four-stars

On foot, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature and the Musée des Arts et Métiers are each four minutes away, the mahJ five and the Marché des Enfants-Rouges six. The Centre Pompidou, nine minutes away, has been closed for renovation since 22 September 2025; its reopening is announced for 2030.

Among the four-star neighbours, Une Autre Chambre (17 rooms, three minutes away) and La Chambre du Marais (19 rooms, four minutes) both have bars, and Hôtel Georgette, six minutes away towards Beaubourg, adds a restaurant with a street terrace. None of the three lists a gym. For a kitchen rather than a bar, the unclassified Hôtel du Haut Marais is a minute away.
