On the Beaubourg side of the 3rd

Hôtel Georgette is at no. 36 rue du Grenier-Saint-Lazare, in the 3rd arrondissement, in the Sainte-Avoie administrative quarter. Our guide files it under the Archives sub-district, yet it faces the other way, towards Beaubourg: the Centre Pompidou is six minutes on foot, the National Archives at the Hôtel de Soubise about eight.

It is independent, and Atout France — the state agency that grants French hotels their official stars — classified it four stars on 14 January 2022. We place it in our upper-middle price band (€€€).

Rooms after art movements

Each room borrows its decoration from a movement of 20th-century art: Pop Art, Op Art, the Nouveaux Réalistes, Street Art and Land Art among them. Rooms have air conditioning and heating, and the hotel’s FAQ lists one room adapted for guests with reduced mobility.

On the ground floor, the Café Georgette serves as restaurant and bar, with continuous service and a terrace on the street. The hotel describes itself as gay-friendly, in the image of the neighbourhood around it. We found no spa, gym or family room on the website. Animals are not admitted, and drivers are pointed to a paid car park at 31 rue Beaubourg.

Around rue du Grenier-Saint-Lazare

The Centre Pompidou has been closed since 22 September 2025, with works planned until a reopening announced for 2030; the Ircam and events on the piazza carry on. Also six minutes away are the mahJ, the museum of Jewish art and history, and the Musée des Arts et Métiers. Rambuteau (line 11) and Étienne Marcel (line 4) are both four minutes on foot.

The five-star Les Bains is a minute away. Among four-stars, the Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers, four minutes away, is much larger, with 64 rooms, an Italian restaurant, a cocktail bar and a rooftop open in the warm season, while the Hôtel Jules & Jim, six minutes away, has a gym and a courtyard bar but no restaurant. Georgette sits between them: 19 rooms in the Atout France register, and a restaurant-bar open all day.

Can I bring my dog?

No. The hotel’s FAQ says that animals are not accepted.

Which metro stations are nearest?

Rambuteau (line 11) and Étienne Marcel (line 4), about four minutes each on foot, then Réaumur – Sébastopol (lines 3 and 4) at six.
