Baths, club, hotel
Les Bains occupies 7 rue du Bourg-l’Abbé, a short street between rue Saint-Martin and boulevard de Sébastopol, on the western edge of the 3rd arrondissement. It is closer to Réaumur and Turbigo than to the Archives, and Étienne Marcel station, on line 4, is the nearest.
Its history explains the name. The Bains Guerbois opened here in 1885 as private baths; in 1978 the building became Les Bains Douches, the club with Philippe Starck’s chequerboard dance floor. It reopened as a hotel in 2015 and was classified five stars by Atout France — the national body that grants hotel stars — on 5 December 2022. The hotel is independent, with no chain or group shown on its website, and holds one MICHELIN Key.
Pool, Roxo and rooms
The spa, called Les Bains Guerbois, has a relaxation area and a room devoted to scent, and gives access to the hammam and the pool — the old club pool, which the hotel says was rebuilt to the same design and now runs as a vitality pool with a counter-current. Le Roxo, the restaurant and bar, is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to midnight (hours listed on 2 October 2026), around a large central bar and two planted patios.
The 39 rooms list air conditioning and accept pets. Several have private south-facing balconies or terraces, in the hotel’s words; there is no shared terrace. Rooms are designed for two, with a penthouse for two to four. The website shows no gym — only Sunday yoga — and no parking or adapted rooms.
Around rue du Bourg-l’Abbé
The Musée des Arts et Métiers, in the former priory of Saint-Martin-des-Champs, is about five minutes away. The Musée d’art et d’histoire du Judaïsme is about seven minutes on foot, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature about nine. The Centre Pompidou is seven minutes away but closed: the building shut on 22 September 2025 for renovation, with reopening announced for 2030.
Among the five-star hotels, Experimental Marais is the nearest, about eight minutes east on rue du Temple, with 43 rooms and a Roman bath in place of a pool. Maison Proust and Le Grand Mazarin, the two other five-star hotels with a pool, are twelve to thirteen minutes away. Closer to hand, the four-star Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers is four minutes away on rue Saint-Martin. All eight five-star hotels are compared in our luxury hotels in Le Marais.

Frequently asked questions
How should I read a Hotel Les Bains review?
Against the record, since we publish no score of our own. Les Bains has held five stars from Atout France since 5 December 2022, carries one MICHELIN Key and keeps its rooms to 39, all within the walls of the old Guerbois baths.
Does Les Bains still have its pool?
Yes. The hotel says the Bains Douches pool was reconstructed identically, and the spa page describes it as a vitality pool with counter-current swimming, used with the hammam.
Is the club still open?
The hotel’s website presented its restaurant, bar and club as active when we checked it on 2 October 2026.
Are pets allowed at Les Bains?
Yes, the room pages list “animals accepted” among the equipment, alongside air conditioning.
Which metro is nearest to Les Bains?
Étienne Marcel on line 4, about 250 metres away. Réaumur – Sébastopol (lines 3 and 4) and Rambuteau (line 11) are both about five minutes on foot.
