Opposite the Conservatoire

Austin’s Arts et Métiers Hôtel stands at no. 6 rue Montgolfier, in the 3rd arrondissement, facing the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers. Arts et Métiers station, on lines 3 and 11, is about fifty metres from the entrance, and Temple (line 3) four minutes on foot.

It is a single-site, independent business: the company that runs it was created in 2000 and operates no other establishment, according to the national business register. Atout France, the agency in charge of official hotel stars, classified it three stars on 16 February 2023, for 31 rooms, which puts it in our middle price band (€€).

Built around accessibility

Its most distinctive point is access for guests with reduced mobility. The adapted rooms are on the ground floor and reached by a mobile ramp, and the hotel says its staff are trained to welcome guests with different disabilities. Of the two three-star hotels nearest Temple, Le Relais du Marais says it is not accessible and Paris France lists no adapted room.

Breakfast is served in a vaulted room of dressed stone, with organic, gluten-free and lactose-free products. Beyond that, the website is brief: no bar, restaurant, terrace or air conditioning is mentioned, and pets are refused.

Around the Arts-et-Métiers

The Musée des Arts et Métiers, in the former priory of Saint-Martin-des-Champs, is two minutes away. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., until 9 p.m. on Fridays, and the permanent collections cost €12 (checked on 2 October 2026). The Marché des Enfants-Rouges and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature are each about eight minutes on foot.

Two three-star hotels lie four minutes away on rue de Turbigo, Paris France Hôtel and Le Relais du Marais, both nearer Temple and République. In other categories, the four-star Hôtel Jules & Jim on rue des Gravilliers is four minutes away, and the unclassified Hôtel du Haut Marais, ten rooms and apartments with self check-in, three.
