Rue Saint-Louis-en-l’Île

The Hôtel L de Lutèce is at 65 rue Saint-Louis-en-l’Île, on the Île Saint-Louis, in the 4th arrondissement. Atout France registers it as Hôtel de Lutèce and rated it four stars on 4 January 2024, for 22 rooms. The hotel presents itself as a family house carried for two generations by women, and independent of any chain.

The Île Saint-Louis, which our guide to the island covers, is the setting. Hôtel des Deux Îles, a three-star with 17 rooms, stands in the same street, but it is a separate house.

Rooms, lounge and hammam

The hotel claims a 17th-century structure, with oak joists and beams of the period. No Mérimée record backs that date for this address, so we give it as the hotel’s claim. Inside, a glass-roofed atrium and a library lounge with a fireplace form the common space, with a bar corner and a complimentary tea time in the afternoon. Berthillon ice creams are on the room-service list; our Berthillon guide covers the ice-cream house itself.

For families the hotel has Plurielle rooms for four and communicating rooms, and the top floor can be reserved as a whole. The private hammam is booked in 45-minute slots; it is a single room, not a spa. A lift serves the floors, yet the hotel declares itself not accessible to guests with reduced mobility. Cooling is not described.

Pont Marie (line 7) is 300 metres away, four minutes. Sully-Morland (line 7) is 650 metres, eight minutes, and Maubert-Mutualité (line 10) is 700 metres, nine minutes.

Next to it

Two three-stars share the street. Hôtel des Deux Îles, 17 rooms, is about 30 metres away, and Hôtel Saint-Louis en l’Isle, 20 rooms, about 35.
