Hôtel Meslay République, Paris

Rue Meslay, at République

Hôtel Meslay République is at 3 rue Meslay, in the 3rd arrondissement. The street belongs to the Arts-et-Métiers administrative quarter, but this end of it opens onto place de la République, and the area feels more like République than the Marais proper. That is the main reason to choose it: République station is about 50 metres away, and Temple (line 3) about 150. Lines 3, 5, 9 and 11 stop at République; line 8 does not stop there from 22 July 2026 to April 2027 because of works. Jacques Bonsergent (line 5) takes six minutes.

Atout France, the national classification agency, rated it three stars on 9 January 2023, for 39 rooms. It is an independent hotel; no group is named on its pages.

Rooms and breakfast

The hotel’s own pages are short on facilities. The breakfast room has exposed stone walls and vaulted ceilings, where a buffet is served every morning. Rooms include a triple for three guests. Small pets are admitted on request.

What is absent: no air conditioning, restaurant, bar, terrace, parking or spa is shown. The Meslay has no step-free access, according to its website. Check the current room details when you book.

Around the hotel

Place de la République is two minutes on foot according to the hotel. The Marché des Enfants-Rouges is about 600 metres on foot (eight minutes), and the Musée des Arts et Métiers about 700 (nine); see our Musée des Arts et Métiers guide. The Marais as most visitors picture it, around the place des Vosges, is about 1,750 metres on foot, 22 minutes.

Against its neighbours

Other three-stars stand within a few hundred metres. Le Relais du Marais, a three-star of 37 rooms, is about 200 metres away on foot, and the Paris France Hôtel, a three-star of 45 rooms, about 200. Hôtel Au Cœur des Arts et Métiers, a three-star of 26 rooms, is about 400 metres off. At 39 rooms the Meslay République falls between the Relais and the Paris France in size.
