On boulevard du Temple

1K Paris stands at 13 boulevard du Temple, opposite Filles du Calvaire metro station, in the Enfants-Rouges administrative quarter of the 3rd arrondissement. Oberkampf station, on lines 5 and 9, is three minutes away, and Saint-Sébastien – Froissart, on line 8, five.

Atout France, the body that awards official hotel stars in France, classified 1K Paris four stars on 1 December 2023, for 48 rooms. It is operated by a company of the Machefert Group. We follow this official register.

Peruvian rooms, Mexican kitchen

The hotel claims a decoration inspired by the traditions and colours of Peru across its 48 rooms and suites, including a 70 m² duplex. Food and drink lean towards Mexico: El Vecino serves taqueria dishes that it says are entirely home-made, and delivers room service.

The bars are the hotel’s signature. La Mezcaleria, reached from behind the kitchens, calls itself the embassy of mezcal in Paris; La Malicia, a second speakeasy, is hidden inside the first. The hotel sums them up as two hidden bars devoted to mezcal and Latin America.

For exercise, a gym with Technogym equipment is open 24 hours a day. The website is explicit on two points — no pets and no access for guests with reduced mobility — and silent on air conditioning, a terrace, a spa and parking.

Around Filles du Calvaire

The Marché des Enfants-Rouges is about four minutes away on foot; the Musée Picasso and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature about nine; the Musée Cognacq-Jay about eleven.

Five-star Maison Proust, with its ten-metre pool, is three minutes away. Among four-star hotels, the Hôtel Suzie Blue, four minutes away on rue Commines, is smaller (31 rooms) and accepts pets; La Chambre du Marais, six minutes away, has 19 rooms and family suites but no restaurant. With 48 rooms, 1K Paris is the largest of the three, and the only one with a gym.
