Twelve rooms on rue Charles-V
The hotel occupies no. 1 rue Charles-V, on the corner of rue des Lions-Saint-Paul, at the southern edge of the Village Saint-Paul. The neighbouring Village Saint-Paul stands on the former site of Charles V’s royal Hôtel Saint-Pol, and rue des Lions-Saint-Paul recalls the royal menagerie.
Atout France, the national body that awards hotel stars, classified it three stars on 14 June 2023, for twelve rooms. It belongs to Les Hôtels Saint-Louis, a Parisian collection created in 1998 which the group calls family-run; Saint-Louis en l’Isle and Le Presbytère are two other hotels of the 4th arrondissement in it.
Rooms and services
With Goralska, it is the smallest hotel of the Saint-Paul area in our files: twelve rooms each. The decoration follows a single line — oak, stone, beams, tiled bathrooms — and the rooms range up to two quadruples: one adapted for reduced mobility on the ground floor, the other in the attic. For couples, the hotel promotes a “Love Package” and its Deluxe Top Floor rooms.
Services are limited to what a house of this size can offer. Breakfast is the only meal and is free for children under twelve; pets are accepted with a supplement; parking is in a private car park outside the hotel. The website mentions neither air conditioning nor a bar.
The neighbourhood on foot
The courtyards of the Village Saint-Paul, four minutes away on foot, group about eighty antique, second-hand, design and craft shops, as well as restaurants and tea rooms; the city’s housing company was renovating its buildings when we checked on 2 October 2026. The Hôtel de Sully is four minutes away: its garden leads through to the place des Vosges, six minutes from the hotel, which our place des Vosges guide covers in detail. The church of Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis is about five minutes away on foot, the Maison de Victor Hugo six.
The closest neighbour is Castex, a three-star of 30 rooms, 175 metres away as the crow flies. De Neuve, a three-star of 21 rooms, and Hôtel Charles V, a four-star of 22 rooms on rue Saint-Paul, are also three minutes away on foot; the Hôtel de la Herse d’Or, 29 rooms, is four minutes away on rue Saint-Antoine. All have more than twenty rooms. The one-star Sully Hôtel is four minutes away.

Frequently asked questions
Hôtel Saint-Louis Marais review — what stands out and what is missing?
On the evidence we checked, its assets are scale (twelve rooms), a hotel announced as fully accessible, with an adapted quadruple, two rooms for four and a stone breakfast cellar. Against it, there is no bar or restaurant, air conditioning is not listed, and the nearest metro is line 7 rather than line 1. We publish no guest scores.
Is it related to Hôtel Saint-Louis en l’Isle?
Yes. Both belong to the same Parisian group, Les Hôtels Saint-Louis, which also includes Le Presbytère on rue de la Verrerie. Saint-Louis en l’Isle has twenty rooms on the Île Saint-Louis.
Can I park near the hotel?
The hotel offers spaces in a secure private car park a few steps away, at an extra charge. Central Paris has been a limited-traffic zone since November 2024; driving to your hotel remains allowed, and taxis can drop you at the door.
Are pets accepted?
Yes, with a supplement, according to the hotel’s services page.
How much is the tourist tax?
In a three-star hotel in Paris, €5.53 per adult per night in 2026, added to the bill by the hotel. Guests under eighteen do not pay it.
