Hotels Marais Paris

Between Bastille and the Arsenal

The hotel stands at 5 rue Castex, between rue Saint-Antoine and boulevard Henri-IV, on the Bastille and Arsenal side of the Marais. We file it with Saint-Paul because it follows the rue Saint-Antoine axis. The hotel is independent, and Atout France classified it three stars on 25 November 2022 for 30 rooms.

Rooms and layout

Air conditioning runs through the whole building. The hotel has two accessible double rooms, and for families a room made of two doubles joined together. Two triple rooms stretch over two levels, with a mezzanine reached by a wooden staircase under heavy beams. Rooms can also be linked through a private corridor. Animals are not accepted, and the only meal is breakfast, taken in a vaulted room of bare stone.

The hotel claims an “Old Paris” look: panelling, beams, wrought iron, terracotta tiles, toile de Jouy and Louis XIII-style furniture. Some rooms face a patio planted with flowers.

On foot

The Maison de Victor Hugo is about 300 metres away on foot. In 2026 entry to all of its spaces is paid, €11 or €9, from 11 June to 22 November, with free collections expected to return afterwards; this is worth rechecking. The Hôtel de Sully, around 350 metres off, has a garden passage to the place des Vosges. Our Hôtel de Sully guide has its hours and our place des Vosges guide describes the square, about 400 metres away.

The neighbours

The three-star Hôtel de la Herse d’Or, 29 rooms, is the closest at about 150 metres on foot. The Hôtel Saint-Louis Marais, 12 rooms, is about 250 metres off, and the Hôtel Bastille Spéria has 42 rooms at around 250 metres too. In the four-star category, the Hôtel Charles V, 22 rooms, is about 400 metres away. The Castex lists two accessible double rooms and two duplex triples with a mezzanine.
