The Hôtel du Plat d’Étain is at 69 rue Meslay, in the 3rd arrondissement. Atout France, the official French classification body, rated it three stars on 11 October 2023, and its register shows 46 rooms. It is an independent hotel, operated by a company registered at this address since 1957.

The hotel is in the administrative quarter called Arts-et-Métiers, on the stretch of rue Meslay near rue Saint-Martin. Apart from the Musée des Arts et Métiers, the landmarks in our data are over 750 metres away as the crow flies; on the metro side, three nearby stations serve five lines (3, 4, 8, 9 and 11).

Rooms and what is missing

The room mix is the main point. Alongside standard doubles the hotel offers three triples and six quadruple rooms of 23 to 27 square metres, and a baby cot is available on request. A quadruple lets four people share one room; the hotel itself does not call them family rooms.

The hotel advertises air conditioning throughout. A seminar room makes it usable for small business meetings. The limits are stated plainly on its own pages: it is not accessible to guests with reduced mobility, pets are refused, and there is no restaurant or bar. Breakfast is a buffet and each room has a minibar. Parking is not on site; the hotel only mentions negotiated rates for parking.

The hotel also announces its sponsorship of an elephant at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for ten years, announced on 5 June 2025. We repeat it as the hotel’s own announcement.

Three stations lie six minutes or less away on foot. Strasbourg - Saint-Denis, on lines 4, 8 and 9, is 200 metres away, about two minutes. Réaumur - Sébastopol (lines 3 and 4) is 350 metres, four minutes, and Arts et Métiers (lines 3 and 11) is 450 metres, six minutes.
